Framework Comments from my Professor
Hi, looks like you are discussing car-free streets and their impacts on the social (safety, public forum), economic, and environmental aspects of everyday living in cities. You have merely converted the previous list to questions for this assignment – rather, I want you to think about what your overall main point is for the term paper, and then distill down to sub-questions for a certain geographical area if possible. It is then easier to compare car-free street examples from one city to another – for example, do you already have success stories that you are reading about?
In your framework, you have added a “transit priority” box – what does that imply? Would your air and noise pollution be covered under environmental impacts? Also, when you talk about decreased noise and air pollution, how are those achieved? Wouldn’t cars simply be re-routed via other street networks – what are the implications on traffic and access? How do you achieve social spaces with car-free streets? There will be other transit modes on there, so how do pedestrians (block parties, public forums) deal with other vehicles on the street?
Definitely add more sources as you move ahead – and always use trusted sources (scholarly articles, books, expert opinions in newspapers/research organizations). Think critically through each section of the term paper – that is why these interim assignments should be helping you structure your paper in a logical and cohesive manner as you write. It is a very interesting topic, so make sure to cover the range of impacts and issues that you have alluded to in your list of questions and framework – after adding updates, consider a resubmit when you submit your literature review in the next assignment.
LITERATURE REVIEW ASSIGNMENT:
TOPIC: CAR FREE STREETS (COMPARE San Francisco’s Market Street Car Free zone with examples from two/three other cities. Look at and compare data please)
750 -1000 word-limit (no more, not less). Use 11-point Calibri/Times Roman font or equivalent. No fewer than 8 scholarly sources – that is, articles or books.
P.S. I will attach my original framework and abstract goal, as well as a Literature review sample from my professor. Thank you. Please fellow all steps accordingly.
