Assignment Brief In this paper, students must build their arguments based on one of the choices of theories that they submitted in the assignment of paper one. This paper is the second of a series of three mini-papers introduced this semester. Therefore, paper two must be a continuation of paper one and submitted as if they were one assignment. Future assignments might require you to build on this paper, so choose the topic of your paper wisely. Students are not allowed to change their theories at this stage unless they have an official approval from the instructor of the course. For this assignment, students will discuss their chosen theory in depth. Students must investigate the advantages and disadvantages for this theory in general, and in specific concerning a chosen built environmental entity. The arguments introduced by the students must include academic evidences regarding who critiqued the theory either negatively or are using it religiously. Students can choose similar built environmental entities. However, since these papers are based on each individual’s understanding and research, it is expected that each paper is different from the other, even if the theories chosen and built environmental entities are the same. Plagiarism is not tolerated and will result in a failing grade. Deliverables The paper must cover (but not limited to) the following ideas: • A specific built environmental entity (i.e., architecture, urban, landscape, etc.) that is well defined by the theory of choice from paper one. • A well-formed discussion and argument on the advantages and disadvantages of the theory in general, and in specific concerning the built environmental entity of your choice. • A well-formed discussion based on academic evidences regarding some of the architects and designers who critiqued the theory either negatively or are using it religiously. • The arguments presented must be supported by providing visuals (images, photos, illustrations, etc.) from the built environmental entity chosen. • The argument presented must be well-cited (according to APA style) and supported by valid academic references. Format • Keep your ideas short but informative and precise • State your name, ID, and department at the top right corner of the first page aligned right. • Number the pages of your document. • Submit a single PDF for the whole paper (all theories in one single document) • You must cite (mention the references) of your sources in a proper academic manner. Use APA style to cite your sources in-text and as end-notes.
