Method

Review the narrated lecture slides that have been posted on Blackboard from the Baroque/Rococo period up to the Gay ‘90s (at this time you do not need to listen to all of the information, just have a look at the images).
Create an electronic research book about a historic design detail AND how that design detail has been used in the last 30 years (since 1990). The same design detail MUST be used for the Historical Research Book due in Week 6 and the Contemporary Research Book due in Week 10.

Part A- Electronic Historical Research Book- Due Week 6

Images:

Using the provided Resources for Credible Sources list to guide your research, select 15 images of the historical design detail. These can include photos of historic garments/items, fashion plates from the historic time period, or paintings from the historic time period. Ensure that images of reproductions are not used. Include an APA citation for each image and the web address where the image was found. Websites such as Pinterest and Instagram cannot be used as sources. The original source for the image must be used.
Insert these images into a Power Point document to create a visual story that shows a variety of different aspects of the historic design detail.
Create a References for Images page at the end of the Power Point.

Written component:

Using the provided Resources for Credible Sources list as a starting point, gather research from at least 3 credible sources. This could include books, peer-reviewed journals, documentary films, museum publications, or academic publications. Websites such as Wikipedia and blogs cannot be used as sources.
If you choose to use more than 3 sources, ensure that all sources are credible.
Describe the design detail and include information about its appearance, the materials used to make it, and how it affected the wearer’s body.
Insert this text into the Power Point to accompany the images you have selected. Use a 12-18 point font. Try to keep the font a consistent size for all slides. Titles and headings can use a larger font size.
Explain the economic, political, social and technological factors that led to this style becoming fashionable. Be sure to use accurate terminology.
Include in-text citations in APA format as well as a References page.

Format for Submission

Submit as a .pdf file on Blackboard

Use the following format to name the file:

First Name_Last Name_histbook.pdf

ALL sources used for research, both visual and written, need to be correctly acknowledged with in-text citations and References pages in APA format. Failure to do so is plagiarism and will lead to a “0” grade on this assignment.
