Creative Thinking unit 1 and unit 2

1 Unit I Discussion Board Question
COLLAPSE
Part I: Introduce yourself to your classmates with your name, location, current employment, and future goals.

Part II: The unit lesson explains that arguments based on opinions are bad, but good arguments would be based on effective use of logic and facts. Share some examples that you have observed when someone in the political arena or from your personal experience offered either a correct or an incorrect argument to answer a controversial question. Explain what makes it a correct or incorrect argument. Remember the purpose of this discussion is not to argue about the actual controversy but to discuss how someone used argument to defend his or her position on the controversy

Hello Class,

Part I: My Name is Stefanie and I live in Harrisburg, PA. I have been a Stay at home mom to my 2 girls for the past 4 and a half years. I am getting my degree to prepare to re-enter the workforce. My only future goal is to be successful in anything I choose to do.

Part II:

I think in any type of argument , you have to have facts to back you up. These facts have to have some logic to them for people to take what you are saying serious. I personally stay out of the news and politics but I think in times where people are stressed, they tend to argue about anything. People can state facts and there will always be people there to test your facts. In the world today, I do think people are using facts to back argument but I do also believe that they rely too heavily on finding there information on social media platforms.

3. Unit 2 Discussion
Describe a time when you worked for a professional, volunteer, or school-related organization that encouraged and supported creative thinking. What was done to support creativity? If you have never had such an experience, describe a time when you attempted to solve a problem for an organization of which you were a part. What was the result? Is there ever a time when status quo thinking is more appropriate than creative thinking? [Learning Outcome 3.1]

I previously worked for a retail business that was always offering up employees to provide new ideas in the way the business functioned. They provided great feedback as well as one on one support. We were the employees working the day to day operation, and the leadership there took opinions seriously. They provided anything we felt we needed to do our job better. Following the status quo just would not have been effective in this workplace.
